Boston’s Ferdinand building had its windows sealed in blue. In this double-sided screen projection, the windows act as a blue-screen effect background, creating space that combines architecture and cinema. Footage of a train and an airplane symbolize the two brackets of film history: the train filmed by the Lumiere Brothers that, according to legend, frightened viewers for its realism, and a plane that crashes into a building resonates familiar images of catastrophe.
